I purchased a number of of these e-books after discovering Peyton Price on Twitter. Peyton has a gift for painting word images in seventeen syllables. Becoming a suburbanite, I instantly recognized myself and my neighbors in her skillfully written haiku poems. She so cleverly captures the routine and, oftentimes, ridiculous behavior of families living in American suburbia. Though some of her haiku are tender and sentimental, most are laugh out loud hilarious. Peyton sees the humor in suburban etiquette and provides voice to thoughts lots of people would hesitate to admit. Her honesty is refreshing and entertaining.
I take pleasure in poetry of all forms, but I particularly get pleasure from haiku. I was thrilled to discover these books, and I preserve them on my phone for whenever I have to have a laugh. I extremely recommend the complete Suburban Haiku collection. They will leave you wanting a lot more.
