Customer Critiques
When Mister Rogers was removed from the everyday feeds of our nearby PBS station and replaced with drivel, I was upset. My 4 year old was just as upset, but kept watching repeats of the few episodes we had saved on tape. Whereas I have been trying to gather other "Mister Rogers" episodes considering the fact that that time, they had been difficult to come by and resulted in attempts by me to "ration" new episodes. When I found seven volumes of Mister Rogers at Amazon on demand, I was thrilled. The smile on my daughter's face when she saw the initial episode was priceless.
The youngsters of today's society desperately have to have a quiet, gentle, and calming figure in their crazy lives: Mister Rogers is one particular of the handful of Television personalities capable of filling that function.
In a globe of television applications that are over-stimulating and age inappropriate, Mister Rogers was and continues to be an oasis. He teaches quietly, gently, and with a distinctive perspective on childhood fears and emotions. He does not just speak to kids, he communicates with them. I have seen countless youngsters, verbally respond to him when he asks a question to his "television neighbor." I am so glad that Amazon is creating Mr. Rogers' exclusive perspective far more readily on the market to a new generation of kids.
If you consider Mister Rogers only had the capacity to profoundly have an effect on kids, you have either in no way watched his show or observed him speak outside of the Neighborhood. In 1969, Mr. Rogers was responsible for Congress rising the federal government's appropriations for PBS from $9 to 21 million. In about six minutes of senate testimony (on the market on YouTube), Rogers spoke of the need for social and emotional education that public tv like his show provided. The initially impatient chairman of the subcommittee, John O. Pastore, who was not previously familiar with Rogers' function, visibly changed although listening to Rogers and later reported that Rogers' testimony had given him goose-bumps. At the finish of Roger's testimony, Pastore declared, "I believe it is superb. Looks like you just earned the $20 million." Today's youngsters programming does not include a single plan that I am conscious of that could give any person goose-bumps, a lot less a sitting US senator.
When I watch Mister Rogers with my daughter, I regularly get goose-bumps as his patience and kindness reminds me of the variety of parent I want to be.
I am thrilled that these old episodes of Mr Rogers' Neighborhood are on the market. What I like about the packaging of these volumes is that they include sets of five sequential shows (shows that originally aired Monday via Friday). This is very important since it indicates that the Neighborhood of Make-Believe episodes for each five-show sequence are consecutive and reach a resolution. I watch the shows with my four-year-old daughter on the personal computer (playing them directly from the Amazon library) and have been pleased with the audio and video good quality. These shows are lovely my daughter is captivated by them and I am inspired by Fred Rogers' gentle and loving demeanor. I hope that a great deal more episodes from each and every season are created offered in the future. These shows are a grace.
